on the plus side I did a mock grading last night and it was about a million time better than the training we've been doing for it.

So far im having a cool year. Aikido in particular is reallty starting to go places. although my 3rd dan preperation is suffering slightly due to demand for instruction within our increasing numbers. Pretty soon we will have completed one of my life ambitions. a full time dojo is on the cards.

me and rob recorded on sat. its sounding excellent. better quality than anything i have worked on before. we're going to release it. possibly press 500 or so. its well exciting.

man being in debt sucks. that is all i have to say on that matter

things are going very well and i really should write a fair bit of it down. unfortunately i dont have enough time so heres some... stuff...

lots of work on which is good. Shake the earth is coming on nicely. sold a load of cds the other day and we're gonna do some more shameless merchandising for this thursday. not only stealing the judges with our performance (and banner.. thanks emma) but also probably selling shit to the bands we are against.. well we'll see! the last gig went really well so im looking forward to this one. i really couldnt give a fuck if we get through even the first round. Im just looking forward to the gig.

aiki is getting serious dudes. did a test last week. went alright but not as id hope. pip did very well though. my class in college finished very well indeed. they want me back and even featured a pic of my class on the front cover of their rec prospectus.

looks like a lot of cool stuff awaits in the new year. by the end of january i should be working as rapid response for barnstaple net. i should also be qualified to carry cuffs. also i should be on my motorbike. PLUS me and rob are releasing an album in febuary.

Hey groovers. know its been ages but i have much news.

was thinking the other day whilst working in kew riverside for dave. I used to earn 143 a week. for years i shit kicked my arse off to scrape 143 pounds. thats ludicrous. but necessary. cos i earnt 150 on sunday. i havent got it yet but i earnt it.

i am really warming to the idea of working much more in london. its only a three hour drive and i have a motor bike now. i can still live here and youll probably see just as much of me. cos im contracted at the college for two days a week anyway.

but every couple of weeks i think i might spend a couple of days on the door somewhere in central london. it really is a cool place.

ive been doing a lot of stuff for aikido recently. its beginning to pay off as well. everyone is so motivated its brilliant.

my work at college is extraordinary. its so wonderful to be able to enable someone in the way i have the opportunity to. this guy has great brain and the stuff that we've been doing regarding his communicator is awesome. put it this way. pretty soon he'll be on msn unaided by me. so look out for tom lewis.

im extra pleased that i get to help him because if it was jsut some lsa that wasnt a bit of a geek then he wouldnt be at hte stage that hes at now. they would have put in a request at the college for an engineer who would have taken 3 weeks to get round to the job and been on double my wages and probably would have fucked it anyway.

man this is weird. tomorrow i will head off on my own on a plane to shanghai, and change after a night there and head back to england. a total of 24 hours in the air.. all.... on... my... own... :(

its been awesome here. i cant wait to sort out a return, (probably in our winter so i get the benefit of the weather). the training has been incredible. the poeple also.

but i miss the good poeple of barnstaple. and i have to earn some fuckin money. which shouldnt be a problem cos my purt behind is somewhat in demand at the moment. i've had a few phone calls whilst ive been over here and i had to give them the good news about there phone bill.

im fucked today. yesterday i got an obligatory pummelling from everyone in the class as it was my last evening lesson.

today i hurt!

here at the aikido shudokan uk we practice a form of aikido handed to us from the recently diceased Kancho Gozo Shioda. This man although small in stature trained with Morehei Ueshiba (founder of modern Aikido) in a period of his life before the physical transformation of Daito Ryu Aikijutsu (secret techniques held dear by the great Aizu Clan) into its later more peaceful vessels of Aikikai and Ki society. The Yoshinkan system as a result is the last remaining source of the Takeda families secret goshiki uchi technique, in its technical form and training format.

was just reading a book by obata sensei.(the guy who played shredder in turtles) he has very strong opinions on the history of sikido and the people involved and to be honest is one of the few men in the world qualified to air them.

he basically belittles and rubbishes the work of jigoro kano (founder of judo) and says that all styles of aikido are crap apart from yoshinkan. now he may ben a little biased but a lot of what he says is founded in truth. kancho sensei (gozo shioda) was the earliest exponent and the only one who stuck to the aikijutsu method as taught to him prewar. and i am being taught by his direct descendents (aikido speaking) in their prime and as close to the source as it gets.

much of what he says reminds me of my first sensei. Sensei Strattons last request to us was 'do not stray from what is practical and effective. and he would often talkin about remembering your roots. this was reflected strongly in the book.

me and the squeaky one have been training hard as per usual this week. its been a weird week actually. i had to give a beginner his second free introductory lesson today. one of the instructors here was injured so they asked me to do it. sounds stupid but its kind of an honour i guess. it sorta means im not shit!

turns out livin in the dojo is really cool. theres a kitchen here and we have a cool japanese style room. theres internet and stuff to. awesome.

i intend to stop by in london for a week or 2 upon my return.. i realise that the skin is supposed to be playing and recording and stuff so i need an update on the arrangements for that. if you need me ill come home but for the time between im needed id like to work in london and earn some real cash for a while. if you tell me when the recording is on (if its on) or any gigs or whatever then ill arrange train journeys accordingly. itll be cool actually. hoping to land a casual job in slimelight. its not likely though. could be handy for contacts etc. the good thing about london is the high earning potential due to the massively higher wage for door supervisors there and the fact that i can work as a doorman any night of the week.

so keep me informed chaps and ill see you shortly

well i was going to put some photies up but i forgot about wanadoo taking my webspace so i might have to put them on myspace. more on that later.

so right now im sat in a four star hotel in shanghai. where i have free bb in my room thanks to my forethought to bring mr groovy along with me. pippas asleep cos its some stupid hour in the morning and she hardly slept for two days bless her.

the plane journey was easy i slept most of it. was a little uneasy at first cos the economy class cabin was a bit worse for wear and not very confidence lifting when flying 5000 miles at a time in. we had some real problems getting hold of a hotel room for the night. because we are an overnight transfer a hotel should have been arranged for us by china eastern airline. unfortunately when we checked in, in heathrow (which although is the busiest is certainly one of the least maintained airports i have come across)there were no vouchers on the records so they said we would have to sort it with china eastern from this side..

not a task i was lookin forward to. travellin 5000 miles unsure you had a place to stay at the other end is ropey at best. well sunday basically entailed the arduous process of getting off the plane and then sorting out our hotel in a non english speaking environment. it took me and pip about 4 hours to sort out but my god it was worth it. just wish i had the facility to show you guys the pics form this week so far. ill sort it out for next time and stuff so no problem.

i am having an excellent time dudes.. this is the best adventure ever and its only just started. i think im going to find it really hard to sit still after this. now that i am here, i wonder what kept me from doing this with pippa for so long.

im so glad we are together. its an experience that i gladly share with her.

i am officially boned. thursday morning we set off at ludicrous oclock for the great metropolis known to you and i as nottingham. what a fuckin dump.. nice bits but the shit im afraid far outways the flowery rosy bits.

got my sorry arse kicked all afternoon and evening and attained my coaching award for the next year. all is well so far. some interesting developements in darth vaders plan for world domination. but im not really at liberty to discuss that on the internet. needless to say that i suspect the smiley politician of foul play..

only got 5 minutes left on this piece of crap web cafe majiggy

trained it to lonodon yesterday and stayed with my brother in clapham. so i got a good old tour of the terrrorist afflicted parts of london. dodgy shit dudes.. seriously. it really brought it home when i took the tube from clapham to heathrow today and more than twice changed routes because of current security situations.. enjoying myself a great deal so far. really knackered and about to spend 2 days further travelling.

gettin excited about it now. just wish i didnt have to borrow internet connections. loving my new handset. frustrated that im workin so much that i dont play as much as i intended to when i quit the eccy. gonna rethink things when i get back from oz.

its shit weather outside. really feel like takin my weapons up a hill somewhere but i cant be arsed cos i have to do loads of crap at home.
